We all dream of perfect, fuss-free getaways… but in reality holidays don’t always go to plan.
From small mishaps (delayed luggage, lost money, and missed connections) to colossal disasters (serious accidents, entire trip cancellations, and lengthy stays in foreign hospitals), every traveller has a story of when an unexpected incident disrupted their perfect vision for their trip.
So, what’s your most unfortunate travel tale?
We're giving away $10k cash to the traveller who has the best travel trip-up, plus a $1k travel voucher to each of five deserving runners-up.
Your travel trip-ups can be funny, frightening, or downright horrifying...
Want a chance to win a share in $15k? When submitting your entry, please ensure you:
- Set the scene. Where were you? What were you doing?
- Explain the travel trip-up. What happened? Why or how did it happen? How did it make you feel?
- Share how you solved it. What did you need to fix the situation? How did you find a resolution?
- Detail the lessons learned. What would you do differently in future to avoid experiencing this again? What advice would you give other travellers to help them avoid or get through a similar scenario?
