It hasn’t taken me long to find out why Bali is the second most popular overseas destination for Australian travelers behind the USA. I am captivated by the beauty, culture and people of this incredible country.
Candice and I have been making the most of our down time, enjoying all of Bali’s delights including its incredible food like Nasi Goreng, vibrant fruit and Luwak coffee.
We have visited the busy streets of Kuta, enjoyed dinner at the infamous Aussie-owned ‘Potato Head’ in Seminyak and relished seafood delights by the beach in Jimbaran Bay.
And of course we’ve been shopping up a storm whenever we get the chance. Our shopping trips to Sanur, Kuta markets, Seminyak and Legian have definitely been highlights of our journey so far.
This weekend we took a day trip to the cultured town of Ubud, one hour north of Denpasar– also known as the Arts District of Bali. We enjoyed a painting class at a local artist’s studio where we created a beautiful Balinese canvas painting to take home with us when we leave.
Now that I’ve settled in, Candice has headed back to Sydney. We said our goodbyes, and I’m now ready for my first week helping patients.
