Here are some top spots for capturing special moments in Austria.

The Schonbrunn Palace

Located in Vienna, this is a popular tourist destination for a reason - the beautiful palace and grounds are truly stunning!

It was commissioned at the end of the 17th century, and now stands as an impressive example of the Baroque style.

The rooms are full of opulent decor, and the grounds and gardens are the perfect backdrop for your photographs.

Birthplace of the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Salzburg is also well known for being the location of The Sound of Music, starring Julie Andrews.

Travel to the film locations in this quaint town, including the exterior of the family home, the glass gazebo and the lake - perhaps even take some photographs re-enacting the famous scenes!

Even if you're not a Sound of Music fan, this town is truly picture-perfect and worth visiting for some great shots of the beautiful medieval architecture and paved lanes. Don't forget to check out Hohensalzburg Castle, which is located atop the town's Festungsberg mountain.

If you visit in December, be sure to visit Salzburg’s yearly Christmas Market, an outdoor festival of gift stalls, musical performances, delicious treats and more dating back to the 15th century.

This lovely alpine town is well worth a photo stop. The streets of the town, especially in the older district, are amazing - particularly in wintery conditions when peppered with snow and Christmas lights. The surrounding alpine scenery is breathtaking, too.

Visit monuments dating back to the 15th century - Gothic, Baroque, Renaissance and Neo-Classical styles of architecture are present throughout the town.

The Golden Roof is particularly impressive. It's a three-story balcony located on the central plaza of the 'Old Town', capped with 2,657 gold-plated copper tiles. Take a picture of it shimmering in the sunlight!
