Welcome to Europe

Europe is home to a range of different people, landscapes, and weather. From the sunny beaches of Barcelona, to the snow-capped mountains of the Swiss Alps – there’s something for everyone in Europe. The majority of the 50 countries use the Euro and are part of the European Union.

When you think of Spain, I bet you think of Barcelona – the bars, the abstract architecture of Gaudi, or the beaches. Or maybe Madrid springs to mind initially with its many museums. But I bet the town of Valencia doesn’t rate a mention unless you’re talking about the annual food fight La Tomantina, which is held in the nearby town of Bunol.

Ah, Italy. The land of good food and fine fashion.

A country where slim, impeccably styled women effortlessly traverse across steep cobblestone streets in chic shift dresses and towering wedge shoes. A country where a man can style a searingly bright yellow Andy Warhol banana design T-shirt with an edgy navy blue blazer (navy blue is the wardrobe colour of the season if you're Europe bound, by the way), with a pale blue floral pocket square and a chunky oversized Panerai watch to offset the chaotically stylish combination.

A palace, Gothic cathedral, bullring, beach, bustling port and a base for spectacular day trips are some of the attractions in the Spanish city of Malaga.

The Cinque Terre in itself is a pretty amazing place. Five villages full of colourful houses precariously squashed together on jagged cliff edges, overlooking the Ligurian Sea. Steep and narrow streets make up the towns that are filled with gelatarias and cute little cafes.

Kirsten was travelling to Paris for a work conference, a seemingly ordinary trip which turned out to be the trip of a lifetime even including a marriage proposal!I started the most amazing trip of a lifetime in July 2011. Paris the “City of Love” certainly lived up to its expectations.
