Travelling away from home is generally an enjoyable experience, but sometimes things don’t go precisely to plan. The chance of unforeseen risks occurring increase when you’re abroad, and you may find yourself involved in a violent or accidental injury. We know the unexpected can happen, and we’re here to help.

If you’re unable to return to work in Australia as a result of an injury caused directly by violent, accidental, visible and external means, and your income is negatively affected, Cover-More’s income loss coverage can help provide support.

Understanding our loss of income benefit

We understand that an injury resulting in loss of income can quickly turn your trip from enjoyable to stressful, which is why you may wish to consider our loss of income benefit. If during your period of insurance you suffer from an injury caused solely and directly by violent, accidental, visible and external means – but not caused by a sickness or disease – that results in a loss of income because you’re unable to return to work in Australia, Cover-More may be able to help.

We provide cover for up to $1,733.33 per month if you’ve taken out our Premium Plan, or $250 per month if you’ve taken out our Domestic Plan. It’s worth noting this amount is your monthly net income tax wage, and it is not payable for the first 30 days after you originally planned to resume your work in Australia – you’ll only receive this benefit amount if your disability occurs within 30 days of the accident.

Please note the maximum income loss cover limit for any accompanying children is $1,000 for each child, and loss of income cover is limited to six months.

The maximum benefit limit for this section is:

Premium Plan $10,400*
Medical Only Plan No cover
Domestic Plan $1,500*
Domestic Cancellation Plan No cover
Inbound Plan No cover

*A maximum liability collectively applies for the Loss of Income; Disability; and Accidental Death benefits of $25,000 for the Premium Plan, and $10,000 for the Domestic Plan.

Please also refer to our General Exclusions and Policy Conditions.
