      Important Information Regarding: Thailand Bans Travel to Cambodia – June 2025

      Background

      On the 24th of June 2025, the Thai government announced that they will be restricting travel to neighbouring Cambodia for tourists or anyone that is not deemed as undertaking essential travel.

      In a further statement from the Thai army, it has been confirmed that these measures are now being implemented, with all non-essential travel between Thailand and Cambodia being halted as of 24th of June 2025.

      Policy coverage:

      Costs that are not covered by your policy

      • There is no cover for claims arising as a result of war, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities (whether war be declared or not), civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection or military or usurped power.
      • There is no cover for claims arising from any government intervention, prohibition, sanction, regulation or restriction or court order.

      For policies with Cancellation Plus Cover issued on or after 24 June 2025

      Cancellation Plus Cover does not apply if travel is prevented due to Government imposed restrictions on traveller movements due to border closures to non-essential travel or airspace closures.

      Cover under Cancellation Plus ceases from the time when the event preventing travel occurs due to the reason above, regardless of alternate reasons for the claim.

      Free Extension of Insurance

      If the relevant time of your current trip pre-dates this travel advice and your travel is disrupted due to this event, impacting your ability to return home on your policy end date, your policy will freely extend until you are physically able to return home as soon as it becomes possible.
