Protect your money in case it gets lost or stolen while on you

Mishaps and unfortunate events can happen when you travel interstate or overseas, including losing your money or having it stolen from you. And if it does happen? The last thing you want is to find yourself stressing about is being short on cash.

Travel insurance that includes stolen or lost money cover may help offer support if things go wrong on your trip.

What does “from your person” mean?

"From your person” essentially means that cover under this benefit will only apply if you were carrying the money on you at the time it was lost or stolen. For example, if your wallet was in your pocket and you were pickpocketed or if your handbag was over your shoulder or body and you were robbed.

We encourage you to read the full Product Disclosure Statement so you are aware of any limits, exclusions or conditions that apply to our stolen or lost money cover.

Do I need to report my lost or stolen money?

Yes, for your claim to be successful, all cases of loss or theft must be reported as soon as possible and within seven days.

A copy of the relevant report must be submitted for any claim involving loss or theft.

If you are unable to provide us with a copy of the relevant report, you must provide us with a reasonable explanation and details of the time and place you made the report, including their contact details.

What isn’t Covered by Cover-More’s money benefit?

Travel insurance helps protect you from unforeseen incidents – it can’t cover absolutely everything. If you’re thinking about protecting your trip with a Cover-More travel insurance policy, there are several conditions and exclusions you need to be aware of, including those related to our money benefit.

Please check the PDS for full policy conditions on our money benefit when deciding if our travel insurance plans are right for you.
