Adventure sports activities (in a non-professional capacity) included at no extra cost

  • Abseiling
  • Archery
  • Black Water Rafting / Cave Tubing
    • Included - if just participating for one or two hours with an organised guided tour.
  • Bungee Jumping
  • Canyoning (known in the U.S. as canyoneering)
  • Caving
    • Included - if just participating for one or two hours with an organised guided tour.
  • Dancing
  • Dog Sledding
    • Included - if just participating for one or two hours with an organised guided tour.
  • Fencing
    • Included - provided wearing standard protective clothing.
  • Fishing
    • Included - provided not fishing in international waters.
  • Football
  • Flying Fox (known in the U.S. as zip lines)
  • Glacier Walking
    • Included - if just participating for one or two hours with an organised guided tour.
  • Horse Riding
    • Included - only whilst leisure riding such as on a trail or through a stable. No cover for racing, hunting or polo playing.
  • Hot Air Ballooning

    • Included - The surfboard itself is not covered unless lost, stolen or damaged whilst in the custody of a Transport provider

    • Included - provided not using ropes or other mountaineering equipment (which would become mountaineering/rock climbing).

    • Included - provided it is being used as a mode of public transport and not driven by the insured.

Coverage at an additional premium

Motorcycle/Moped Riding

  • Coverage can be obtained at an extra cost, subject to the conditions below. If you wish to be covered to ride a motorcycle or moped, as the driver or pillion passenger during your journey, you must pay an extra premium. You will only be covered if:
    • The engine capacity is 200cc or less
    • You are wearing a helmet
    • You are not participating in a professional capacity
    • You are not racing
    • Whilst in control of a motorcycle/moped, you hold a valid Australian motorcycle licence and a licence valid in the relevant country
    • Whilst you are a pillion passenger the driver holds a licence valid in the relevant country
      Please note: No cover will apply under the Personal Liability Section.

Snow skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling

  • Covered at an extra cost subject to the conditions below. Even if you pay the extra premium you will not be covered if:
    • You are skiing or snowboarding off-piste
    • You are racing
    • You are participating in a professional capacity

* Medical cover will not exceed 12 months from the onset of the injury or illness. Reduced limits may apply for customers 70 years of age or over at the relevant time. Limits will be shown on the Certificate of Insurance.
