Lovers of travel are forever looking for a new excuse to pack their bags and head off to a new destination. Now travellers can pack their bags in search of exotic or rare Pokemon across the globe with Pokemon Go – the new augmented reality gaming app where you can catch Pokemon. Here are some of the great finds so far:

ZUBAT - Table Mountain, Cape Town, South Africa

Twitter user @werner discovered this exotic creature high up on Table Mountain. Other well-known tourist attractions in Cape Town are The Heart of CapeTown Museum, visiting the Cape Point Nature Reserve and various private or sightseeing tours. Please be careful when hiking for Pokemon, they may try to lure you into unsafe situations like Zubat here.

KRABBY - Citi Field Stadium, New York, USA

Reddit user /u/linkingday was lucky enough to sight a Krabby during the Washington Nationals vs New York Mets game over the weekend. Although Daniel Murphy hit his seventh home run against the Mets this year, it was surely eclipsed by the super-sized Krabby #plussize.

DRATINI - Scarborough Beach, Perth, Australia

Now we cross the globe back to Australia where Instagram user @taylorgullotti caught an unsuspecting Dratini on the sands of Scarborough Beach in Perth. For those not well versed in the world of Perth, it’s home to some of Australia’s most beautiful beaches, the internet-loved animal the Quokka, and a beautiful dry heat where you’ll feel warm without swimming in perspiration - the ideal weather for Pokemon hunting.

GOLDEEN - Volunteer Park, Washington, USA

Back to America now and you’ll see that Instagrammer @_syzygy_ has used her lightning-speed skills to capture a beautiful Goldeen, quietly swimming in a small pool of water in Volunteer Park. The park is so named to honour the volunteers who served in the Spanish-American War in 1898. No known sightings of Team Rocket at this stage - travellers are urged to use caution.

ODDISH - Streets of London, United Kingdom

We know that the Queen loves gardening so it’s no surprise that Pokemon like Oddish are popping up around the streets of London. Captured by Instagram user @benwyates while politely minding his own business, probably out for a spot of tea, it’s time for this little guy to get to work. While you’re in London you might want to take your Pokemon to visit Big Ben, the British Museum, or if they’re not behaving - the Tower of London which was once in its history a prison.

We look forward to seeing the Pokemon sightings in Europe and Asia once it’s released in the next few days.
